What Type Of Freelance Work Do You Do?
Freelancing is a great way to make extra income from the skills you already have. It is also a great way to earn extra income doing the things you love! Freelance jobs can be found in almost any field of work. Some of the more common types of freelancers I hear about work in the following fields:
- Video Production
- Graphic Design
- Project Coordination
- Audio Production
- Website Design
That is just a small list of freelance jobs I run into most. You may fall into those categories or you might do work outside of those fields. No matter what type of freelance work you do, you’ve probably experienced late nights, quick-turnarounds and demanding clients. This is the norm! I can totally relate because I’ve experienced all the challenges that come from freelancing. But I want to show you that there is another way to make a decent amount of extra income that is more pleasant, has more potential and is more gratifying!
What You’ll Learn At Freelance Doodle
Here at Freelance Doodle, you are going to learn methods where you can utilize your existing creative skills and make extra side-income without applying for another freelance gig! This is completely possible because you already possess the necessary skills and have expertise at using the tools in your profession. By using your existing skills and knowledge and taking advantage of how the internet can be used for business, you can eliminate the need to do freelance work!
The most amazing part of this is that the income generated from projects I describe on this site is totally passive! Passive income? What does this mean to you? This means that you can work on a project once, get it online and continue to generate income from it without clients and with very little to no maintenance! How does that sound? I hope you’re not sitting there saying that it sounds easy because it definitely IS NOT EASY! You still have to put in a lot of work but the end result is something that can continue to pay off for years to come. And hey, if you want to continue to do traditional freelance gigs, that’s great too!
How Do I Get Started?
You just happen to be in the right place to start learning how to make passive income from your creative endeavors! This website is intended to be my journal of how I am accomplishing my goals of generating side-income and never freelancing again! I post tutorials on everything I do. I also try to be as detailed as possible because I am using this website as my notebook so I can look back and remember how to do some of the things I accomplished.
Some of these tutorials will just be text based in a blog post but I will also produce video tutorials as well if needed. If you follow along with my articles, you will know exactly how I’m going to achieve my goals.
In addition, I do post monthly income reports showing you exactly how much income I’m generating from my various projects. This is simply a way for me to keep track of how I’m doing each month so I can see if I’m making any progress.
Who’s In Charge Of Freelance Doodle?
My name is Harlan Yee and I officially quit freelancing in 2012. I am the creator of Freelance Doodle and your guide on this site. I have worked in broadcast television for 20 years primarily producing television commercials and promotional videos. Over the years, I’ve developed my skills in video production by working with sales professionals and many, many clients. I continue to have a 9 to 5 job but I have decided not to accept any more freelance work.
My professional work includes shooting video, writing scripts, creating static and motion graphic design, directing, video editing and more. I can’t remember exactly when but I started hearing stories of how people were making money online and of course that peaked my interest. What I learned is that all these years, I had been developing all the necessary skills to start generating income online. Pretty much everything I create for my side business now incorporates the skills I already have! And I’m guessing a lot of you possess the skills to do the same!
I used to work late nights stressing about client deadlines and losing lots of sleep. Actually, that hasn’t changed much! I still work on projects late into the night but I don’t have pressure from client deadlines. This can be good or bad because I tend to procrastinate alot! But what I discovered is that I enjoy my side projects way more than before and I love that the income generated from my projects continue to pay off even if I completely stop working on new projects!
So if you’re interested in learning how your skills can be used to create a new stream of income, I welcome you to my site and all it has to offer!
