I just launched this blog using the free Custom Community WordPress theme from the WordPress.org library. This is a fantastic looking theme with loads of customizations. A lot of the settings are pretty easy to figure out. Most I figured out through trial and error. However, when it came to getting rid of the Featured Images thumbnails, I had a little trouble getting them off the homepage.

Naturally, I Googled the question and never found the answer. Even the theme developers’ website wasn’t any help. I know there are people out there looking for the answer so I thought I’d post what I found here. Some say the solution is in the individual posts. Not true. Others say to delete a line of code. Not really the answer I was looking for.

The answer is pretty simple. Just go to Appearance > Theme Settings.

With the GENERAL tab selected, find and click on DEFAULT HOMEPAGE.

Scroll down until you see Last 3 Posts on Home/Display Last 3 Posts – select HIDE.

Scroll down to the bottom of all the settings and click SAVE OPTIONS.

That’s it! Go to your homepage and now all the featured image thumbnails are gone. Your top-most blog post should be sitting right underneath your navigation menu. Please leave a comment and let me know if this was helpful!
